  • John the Baptist was divinely appointed to ready the hearts of the people of Israel for the arrival of their long-awaited Messiah. He proclaimed the imminent advent of the Lamb of God, who was destined to absolve the sins of humanity. Through a baptism symbolizing repentance, he paved the way for the New Covenant.
