The Doctrines That We Confess

At Nine Mile Community Church, We Believe:

  • The Sovereignty of God: We believe in the Sovereignty of God in Creation, Providence, Election, and Redemption, affirming His divine will and purpose.
  • The Holy Trinity: We believe that there is one God, existing coequally for all eternity in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Grace Alone (Sola Gratia): We believe that Salvation is by Grace alone, a free gift of God not based on human merit or works. Without God’s intercession, mankind exists in a state of moral depravity.
  • Faith Alone (Sola Fide): We believe that Justification is by Faith alone, through which Believers are accounted righteous before God on the basis of Christ’s righteousness and atonement. Faith blossoms after God first regenerates the sinner’s heart.
  • Christ Alone (Solus Christus): We believe that Salvation is found in Christ alone, who is the only Mediator between God and man. Jesus died on the Cross as a redemptive act for all those who believe in Him. There is no other way to be reconciled with the God than through Faith in Christ alone.
  • Scripture Alone (Sola Scriptura): We believe the Bible is the Inspired, Infallible, Inerrant, and Authoritative Word of God, sufficient for all matters of Faith and practice. Scripture is a completed work to which nothing can be added.
  • The Glory of God Alone (Soli Deo Gloria): We believe that everything in all of Creation, including Salvation itself, is meant to illustrate the glory of God alone. Further, we affirm that the chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.
  • The Creation: We believe that God created the world, in a mature state, about 6000 years ago. Further, we deny the Big Bang Theory and the Theory of Evolution as they both stand opposed to revealed Biblical truth.
  • Believer’s Baptism: We believe in Believer’s Baptism by immersion, which is a sign of the Believer’s union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
  • The Rapture of the Church: We believe that Jesus will return for His Church before the Tribulation period. Additionally, we affirm our faith in the Millennial Reign of Christ.
  • The Great Commission: We believe in the proclamation of the Gospel to all nations, making disciples, baptizing them, and teaching them to observe all that Christ commanded.
